Submit

Work can be in any of the following topics:

• Short story
• Poem
• Essay
• Any kind of essay, article, etc., on an aspect of the literary world - i.e., a book review, an article on an author and their life, or an essay on a literary trend.  

Please send your submission to inklightswriting[at]gmail[dot]com.  I'll look over it and make sure it meets the requirements (see below).  Please allow a decent amount of time before it appears on the website; I'll email you before I post it.  

Rules:

• Please include "Submission" in the subject line of your email, followed by the general category it would fall under (anything that isn't a short story, poem, or essay can be categorized as an "article").
• Entries must be 12-point font, Arial or Times New Roman.  If possible, I'd prefer that you format it as a separate document and attach it to the email, or share using Google Drive, etc.  If that's not possible, you can copy-paste it into the email itself.
• Keep all your work PG or slightly PG-13.  No explicit sex or language.
• Don't plagiarize.  If you quote other work, make sure you include the source of the quote.

A quick word on copyright:

Any work that you create, whether on paper or the computer, is automatically protected by copyright, even if you post it to a website like this one.  This means that no one is allowed to use it for commercial purposes without your permission.  However, when you post your work for people to see you also give implied consent that they are permitted to download, copy, or print it, email it to their friends, and otherwise share it, as well as use it in some measure as a basis for their own works.  What this does not mean is that someone else can pass your work off as their own - that's plagiarism.
